SBI PO is an exam conducted by State Bank of India for recruitment of Probationary Officers in SBI. It conducts a three-phase exam every year for recruitment of thousands of post and lakh of candidates appear for the post.

 Exam Pattern

 SBI PO consists of three Phase exam and to qualify for the exam a candidate is required to clear all phases. The Phase I exam is Computer Based Examination and  qualifying in nature and only candidates clearing in the exam can appear for the Tier II exam.

 Phase I: Preliminary Examination

 This examination consists of Objective Type – Multiple-choice questions only.  The questions will be bilingual for Part-II, III & IV.The exam consists of three sections with total marks 100 and total time allotted for the exam is 60 minutes. Each correct answer weightage is of 1 mark.

 *In Phase I, there is negative marking of ½  mark for each wrong answer.

 Phase – II: Main Examination:

.Main Examination is further bifurcated into Objective Test comprising of 200 marks and Online Descriptive Test comprsing of 50 marks. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.

 It is an Online Mode (Descriptive paper) in which a candidate is asked to write essay/letter/application in stipulated time (30 minutes) to test candidate’s English Language

Candidates qualifying in phase II examination will be called for Group Exercise and Interview and based upon their performance in phase III; a merit list will be created subject to a candidatescoring minimum qualifying score in aggregate.

 Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification is Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Age Limit: A candidate must be above 21 years but below 30 year for eligible for applying for the posts. Moreover, there is an age relaxation  permissible  beyond upper age limit for the reserved categories which varies according to the category and maximum age relaxation a candidate can avail is upto 15 years

Number of Chance: A candidate has limited chances of appearing in the exam and beyond that he is not eligible to appear the exam. The number of chances is mentioned below in tabular form
