SSC Junior Engineer (JE) is an exam conducted by Staff selection Commission for recruitment of Group “B” (Non- Gazetted) posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. It conducts SSC JE exam every year for the post of thousands of vacancies and thousands of students with engineering background appear for the exam. Exam Pattern
SSC JE consists of two Tier exams and to qualify for the exam a candidate is required to clear all or required exams. The Tier I exam is Computer Based Examination and qualifying in nature and only candidates clearing the Tier I exam can appear for the Tier II exam.
Paper I Examination
Tier I exam consist of three sections comprising different number of questions and total time for the exam is 120 minutes. Each correct answer weightage is of 1 marks.

Paper II Examination
Only candidate who has obtained cut off marks in Tier I exam are eligible to appear for the Tier II exam. Tier two exam consist of two sections namely Quantitative Abilities and English Language and Comprehension.

Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification is Diploma in Civil Engineeringor Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. However, there are other education qualification for specific post.
Age Limit: There is no specific age criteria for the all the posts and age limit varies from post to post. However, the maximum age is 32 year which imply if you are below 32 year you can appear for the exam.
Moreover, there is an age relaxation permissible beyond upper age limit for the reserved categories which varies according to the category and maximum age relaxation a candidate can avail is upto 15 years.
